Enrollment Issues

This is your resource for all questions about Western Civ. I and II!

If you have a question not addressed below, please email the Humanties Program Associate Director, Antha Cotten-Sprecklemeyer at arcs@ku.edu.

  • Can I get into a full class?
We do not generally overload full sections of Western Civ. I and II; however, we do make exceptions for graduating seniors as space allows. If you are a graduating senior (or if you have an exceptional circumstance), please email the Associate Director.
  • Is Western Civ. I a prerequisite for Western Civ. II?
Although it is probably easier to move through the courses sequentially, Western Civ. I is not a prerequisite for Western Civ. II.
  • I took a similar course somewhere else. Will it transfer?
A limited number of Kansas and Missouri community colleges offer courses that have been approved for equivalent credit. These approved courses can be confirmed on KU's Credit Transfer. If in doubt about whether a course is approved, contact the HUM office.
  • Can I take this course at another institution?
A limited number of Kansas and Missouri community colleges offer courses that have been approved for equivalent credit. These approved courses can be confirmed on KU's Credit Transfer. If in doubt about whether a course is approved, contact the HUM office.

Registering Students: Please note that all Humanities courses have changed from HWC to HUM in the Course Catalog.
